Brothers Lumus and Penryn have been shot out into space as specimens of the past. In the three years they’ve been afloat, Lumus has stayed awake to perfect his stand-up routine and Penryn has been in a deep sleep. Now Penryn is awake and things have… shifted. Penryn has girl parts and Lumus’ teeth are rapidly falling out. How can they be specimens of the past if things have changed so drastically?

Jason is Co-Founder/Co-Artistic Director of Banana Bag & Bodic, for which he is a writer, performer and set designer. His work with BB & B has won him awards nationally and internationally and has kept him busy for the last 12 years. Commissions outside of BB & B include: Beardo, Shotgun Players, Berkeley, CA, 2011; Oh What War, Mallory Catlett of Juggernaut Theatre (NY), which was presented at Here Arts Space (NY), September 2009; Gogol: A Clown Opera, for the inauguration of The Exit on Taylor, Exit Theatre (San Francisco). His adaption of Beowulf entitled Beowulf – A Thousand Years of Baggage was a commissioned by, and received its world premiere with Shotgun Players in Berkeley CA and played at The Ashby Stages and Berkeley Rep. and then made its New York premiere at Abrons Arts Center in 2009. Beowulf received the Will Glickman Award for Best New play in the Bay Area. Other awards include: Best New Production 2006 at the Dublin Fringe for The Sewers.
He has been a featured artist in Theatre Forum, The Bay Area. Time Out New York, The New York Times and American Theatre Magazine. As a performer he has worked with such companies as gALE gATES et al, foolsFURY, Misery/Loves Company, Inverse, Radiohole, The Exit Theatre and Shotgun Players. For Space//Space he received a NYSCA individual Artist Commission. He received a BA (hons) in Architecture from Hull University, England. He now lives in Beacon NY with his wife and kid.

Trevor is the Artistic Director of Northern Light Theatre as well as a performer, designer of set and costume, a published playwright and a multiple award winner. He has been awarded twice for playwrighting (THE WATERMELON GIRLS, and CHANGE ROOM),for directing the Canadian premieres of Carol Anne Duffy’s THE WORLD’S WIFE and Sean Graney’s THE 4TH GRADERS PRESENT AN UNNAMED LOVE-SUICIDE and the outstanding production award for the Canadian premiere of Elise Forier Edie’s THE PINK UNICORN. For Guys In Disguise, where he is an Artistic Associate, he has also performed the one-man show COFFEE DAD, CHICKEN MOM, AND THE FABULOUS BUDDHA BOI, penned by Nick Green in New York as part of the FRIGID FESTIVAL for which he also received the award for Outstanding Performance, and the Outstanding New Fringe Play (co-written and created with Darrin Hagen) for FLORA & FAWNA’S FIELD TRIP (both at the Sterling Awards), and Outstanding Touring Production at the Critic’s Awards in Calgary. Also for Guys In Disguise, he received an Orlando Fringe award for his performance for Bette Davis in the much-lauded BITCHSLAP.

Trevor is a film and stage actor, teacher, fiction writer and musician with Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting degrees from the University of Alberta. In 2009, he received a Gemini nomination and the Best Actor award at the 33rd San Francisco American Indian Film Festival for his portrayal of Jason Pierce in the film adaptation of Drew Hayden Taylor’s In a World Created by a Drunken God. The film also won Best Dramatic Feature at the Edmonton Dreamspeakers Festival. Trevor has been listed in Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40, has been honored with the University of Alberta’s Alumni Horizon Award, and has recently been featured in the University of Alberta’s New Trail Magazine. He’s played the recurring role of Greg Nepoose in the Multi Gemini Award winning Blackstone since the pilot, and can be seen in Blackstone’s season 4, which will air in November.

Nadien Chu (she/her) is thrilled to be returning to NLT for this amazing show!
Nadien is proud to be based in amiskwacîwâskahikan, Treaty 6 territory. Her NLT credits include: Cherish, Fourth Graders Present an Unnamed Love-Suicide, Space//Space, Cleopatra’s Sister and narration for the cardiac shadow. Other recent credits include: As You Like It, The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night and many others for the Freewill Shakespeare Festival where she has served as an Artistic Associate and company member for 9 years.
Recently for the Citadel Theatre: Little Women, The Three Muskateers, The Importance of Being Earnest, Network, Pride and Prejudice, The Garneau Block. Nadien has also worked at The Arts Club (Vancouver), The Grand Theatre ( London), Royal Manitoba Theatre (Winnipeg), VertigoTheatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, Theatre Calgary and One Yellow Rabbit (Calgary).
Upcoming at the Citadel Theatre you can see Nadien in The Vinyl Cafe, Death of a Salesman and The Wizard of Oz.

Dave is a musician, actor and writer. He has composed music and produced sound designs for theatre, film, dance and multi-media for three decades. Watch out for the 2024 Western Canadian tour of his family musical performed in spoken English and American Sign Language, SONGS MY MOTHER NEVER SUNG ME (Concrete Theatre).
Previous designs for Northern Light Theatre include ENOUGH, THE CARDIAC SHADOW, WISH, SPACE/SPACE, THE ECSTATICS and 6.0 – HEAP AND PEBBLE. Other recent designs include AFTER FAUST (Invisible Practice), DEAFY, THE ROYALE (Citadel Theatre), and ALL THE LITTLE ANIMALS I HAVE EATEN (Shadow Theatre).

Adam is a multi-talented technician and theatre designer who works in set and lighting design and construction. He is sought-after as an artistic collaborator and his work has been seen on the stages for Northern Light Theatre, Shadow Theatre, Teatro la Quindicina, Fringe Theatre Adventures, L’UniThéâtre, Theatre Yes, multiple high school and performing arts groups, as well as trade shows and conventions. He has served as Production Manager and Site Technical Director for North America’s largest Fringe Festival, currently serves at the Technical Director and Production Manager at Northern Light Theatre. He is a multiple nominee for Sterling Awards.

Anna is an Equity stage manager based in Edmonton. She has worked as a stage manager or ASM for The Edmonton Opera, The Citadel Theatre, Northern Light Theatre, Shadow Theatre, Workshop West, Theatre Network, ConcreteTheatre, and L’Uni Theatre. Previous shows with NLT: Cleopatra’s Sister, Bitches & Money 1878. She is a graduate of the Theatre Production Program at MacEwan and the Theatre Performance Program at Red Deer College. Anna is also a freelance technician and member of IATSE local 210.

Mariann is over the moon to be helping out behind the scenes with this production of Space//Space. You may have seen her on stage last season as Lucy in Pains of Youth, The Princess of France in Love’s Labour’s Lost or The Mother in Blood Wedding (UofA, Studio Theatre). Mariann is a graduate of the U of A’s BFA Acting and BA Honours Drama programs.

Ruth DyckFehderau (pronounced Dyke-FAY-der-ow) writes fiction and nonfiction, and teaches Creative Writing and English Lit at University of Alberta. Her shorter pieces have appeared in literary journals and anthologies; her book The Sweet Bloods of Eeyou Istchee: Stories of Diabetes and the James Bay Cree (2017 CBHSSJB, distrib WLUP), written with James Bay Cree storytellers, is being translated into five languages; and I (Athena), a novel, is forthcoming in 2023 (NeWest). Currently, Ruth is working on another commission for the James Bay Cree: Finding Our Way Home: Residential School Recovery Stories of the James Bay Cree (Vol One forthcoming 2022, CBHSSJB, distrib WLUP). She has published and spoken in venues around the world and has won many literary awards.
