📻 On April 30 the final show of our 50th Season starts. REQUEST PROGRAMME features a different actor from our history and our community every night. The show addressess loneliness, grief, and mental and emotional health, depending on what an individual audience member perceives in each performance. Songs in the show have been written and recorded by Edmonton musicians. 🎶

🎭 Larissa (she/her) is a queer Ukrainian artist living and creating in amiskwaciwaskahikan. A multidisciplinary performer, production designer, visual artist and tattooist (owner/artist at Folk Lore Tattoo), she is also a teaching artist with the Citadel Theatre (musical theatre/dance), and is the former Artistic Director of the Vohon Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. Poho has worked with Trevor Schmidt @trevorschmidt69 at NLT as a Lighting Designer for such shows as A PHOENIX TOO FREQUENT and MONSTRESS. She has performed in ONCE, ALL BECAUSE I’M A WOMAN, HITS OF BROADWAY (Citadel) ; INFINITY (Theatre Network); CANADA ROCKS: THE REBOOT, VEGAS LIVE, CANADA 151 (Mayfield).

🎭 An Edmonton native, Michelle has been active in the arts community as an actor, writer, and choreographer. She has performed her own one-woman show nationally, and been fortunate to work with organizations, post secondary institutions, local and provincial schools through theatre on social justice issues surrounding bullying, diversity, and racism. Michelle last appeared at NLT in SLUT during the 2017-2018 season.

🎭Vanessa is co-artistic producer at Azimuth Theatre, and co-founder and co-producer for The Maggie Tree and last worked with NLT Artistic Director Trevor Schmidt @trevorschmidt69 on the solo show 19 WEEKS during our 2018-2019 season. Other theatre credits include The Comedy of Errors, Hamlet (Freewill Shakespeare Festival); The Crucible (Theatre Calgary); Nevormore (Catalyst Theatre); The Last Voyage of Donald Crowhurst (GhostRiver Theatre and Alberta Theatre Projects).

The late Jace van der Veen was our Artistic Direct

The late Jace van der Veen was our Artistic Director between 1982 and 1989.

Edmonton actor and director Marianne Copithorne says of an experience with Jace:

“My first production with NLT was George F. Walker’s Filthy Rich. Director Jace had a terrible inner ear infection and it affected his balance, so he had to direct us while lying down. He got that show up while he was flat on his back!! He was a lovely guy. I miss him.”
